Seniors of Tahanang Mapagpala in Malolos, Bulacan can look forward to a weekend of fun on September 12, 2015 as SM City Marilao and SM City Baliwag bring cheers and love for the elderly with the “Serve More Love for the elderly” project.
SM Bulacan Malls’ employees as well as participating tenants will be pooling resources to raise substantial amount of money for the basic needs of the elderly like toiletries, medicines, clothing, and food.
Seniors of Tahanang Mapagpala will likewise be surprised with gifts, entertainment, and hearty meal.
SM Supermalls Human Resources Manager Prescila Salamat said that “Serve More Love for the Elderly” is one of the projects under the Volunteerism Program that is spearheaded by the Human Resources Department. The program aims to build a culture of volunteerism among employees by engaging them in activities that drive change in society to make a difference.
“The heart of our volunteerism program is to inculcate a sense of civic responsibility among our employees as well as our tenants” said SM Human Resources Manager Prescila Salamat. “With the projects under our Volunteerism program, our employees are co-creating SM’s vision of building strong and better communities” Ms. Salamat added.
Volunteerism program is one of SM’s many ways of giving back to the communities. Projects under the Volunteerism program include; the “Adopt-A-Day-Care-Center” where two day care centers in Bulacan were refurbished and rehabilitated last June 17, 2015 and the upcoming SM ‘ChriSMs’ on December that aims to give Christmas cheers to the less fortunate kids.
