Mall goers had the rare opportunity to have a glimpse of award winning works of some of the country’s top and emerging artists in Art MADE Public, an art exhibition of past MADE winners at the SM Aura Premier Atrium.

A joint project of Metrobank Foundation and SM, the event also this year’s MADE competition in painting, sculpture, interior design, architecture, and its new competition, art & design criticism.

The exhibition was the first showcase of Metrobank Art & Design Excellence past winners’ artworks, featuring actual and original paintings of past winners and contemporary Filipino artists such as Elemer Borlongan, Emmanuel R. Garibay, Alfredo Esquillo, Jr., Melvin Culaba, Samuel Penaso, Clarence Eduarte, Reynaldo Samson, Mark Andy Garcia and Don Bryan Bunag to name a few.

Art MADE Public is a nationwide travelling exhibition and lecture series of the Metrobank Art & Design Excellence to spread awareness and invite young Filipino artists and designers to join its competitions. This years’ exhibition carries the theme Empowering Dreams for an Inspired Nation and has also been showcased at SM San Lazaro. It will then travel to SM Bacolod (Feb 4-6), SM Naga (March 3 – 6) and SM Cagayan De Oro (March 10-13).

Deadline of entries for the painting, sculpture and art criticism competition is on May 8-9 for Metro Manila entries and May 4 for provincial entries. Winners per competition will receive a cash prize of Php 300,000.

Art Made Public 2015 is one of the many exciting events at SM Supermalls.
