The week-long incessant monsoon rains have caused massive flooding in Bulacan turning some areas into inland seas. Despite the torrential downpour of rain and waist deep flood, SM Foundation Inc. (SMFI) in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) aided the affected families through its Operation Tulong Express program.

Volunteers from SM City Marilao, Marilao Rescue Team and SM Foundation have intensified and stepped up the relief operation to flood stricken families by personally handing over goods to houses that are still under water. Synchronously, SM City Baliwag attended to the plight of flood victims and brought relief goods to evacuation centers as well as flooded areas in Bulacan.

The bags which contained ready to eat food like crackers, canned sardines and noodles benefited more than 6,000 families from different Barangays in Malolos, Marilao, Meycauayan, Calumpit, Baliuag, Hagonoy and Obando.  Bottles of water were also given along with the relief packs.

Apart from the relief operations, SM City Marilao and SM City Baliwag have also set up booths to enable people to have easy access in dropping off their donations.
